Why see us at BMBS for Acupuncture?
At BMBS Acupuncture Brisbane and Sunshine Coast we use a very gentle Japanese Style of Acupuncture. To be able to offer this service our practitioners so far have undergone a further 3 years of intensive training, after a 4 year degree in Health Science and Chinese Medicine. Ongoing training is constantly undertaken on a monthly basis to refine our skills.
Japanese Acupuncture is especially great for those with a phobia of Needles, as there are many treatment options that don’t involve the use of needles. These strategies include the burning of tiny ‘Rice Grain’ sized pieces of ‘Moxa’ directly on the skin, as well as ‘contact needling’ from the Toyohari school of thought. We also use Cupping in our treatments if deemed necessary for the complaint, or if the patients specifically requests it. These techniques are pain free and extremely beneficial for those patients who are severely Fatigued and Run Down.
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine has proven to be the answer for a lot of conditions that haven’t responded to other treatment methods. There are many instances where no structural problems show up on X-rays or Scans, but there is still pain; where there are no abnormalities in blood tests, but there is still a sickness present – these are the instances that Acupuncture usually works at it’s best.
Toyohari & Kiiko Style Acupuncture
Palpation of the Pulse, Stomach (Hara) and channels along certain areas of the body to determine which Channels and Organs need re-balancing through treatment of certain points; followed by the use of Gold, Silver, Stainless Steel needles and/or Moxa to stimulate the flow of energy at ‘alive’ or ‘active’ points on the body.
We are pleased to be able to offer this unique and specialized service to patients. Along with very few Acupuncture practitioners in Australia, or practitioners were lucky enough to undergo intensive training with Cosmetic Acupuncture field leader, Mary Elizabeth Wakefield from the USA.
